What We Learned from Leanne Vogel
So last week, Kristi, our baker for the Good Fat Company, and I got to see Leanne Vogel, The Queen of Keto, in person! She was inspiring. She glows with optimal health and she is a wonderful speaker and storyteller. Plus she is incredibly knowledgeable about the impact of food on our bodies. She said a few things that really hit home.
One thing she spoke about was how food affects our bodies is very personal. Figuring this out for myself is as much an art as it is a science. What works well for you may be absolutely wrong for your best friend. And it is important to find a health practitioner (or medical team) like The Nutritional Healing Center of Ann Arbor, who will work with you as you make this personal journey to help you make those adjustments. It is downright frightening how little most of us know and understand about our bodies! And it is also unsettling how some medical professionals are unwilling to support our personal journey at the root cause. Creating optimal health can take time and patience.
Another thing she mentioned had to do with healing and this also hit home. As we progress through our healing process, our needs will change. As we repair and regenerate our bodies, the routines we use today will need to be modified along the way. What was working yesterday may need to be modified today as we no longer suffer from XYZ. This is a good thing! Again our eating habits are a work in progress.
What Kylee and I are finding is fascinating. By eating a Keto diet (Good Fat Bars!), our bellies are slowly melting away and we feel great! We feel satisfied and look forward to our Keto friendly meals. (I just put a batch of Keto ice cream from the recipe in last week’s newsletter in the freezer. YUM!)
We are excited to see what happens next as we continue to get more in tune with our bodies. We are also grateful to have people like Dr. Schmidt and his staff, and Leanne Vogel as resources as we make this fascinating and empowering journey.
Stay cool!
